Guangzhou Mayor Sun Zhiyang met with Zhang Yihao, vice president of GE Healthcare and president and CEO of GE Healthcare China, and signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation on July 30.
According to the memorandum, both sides will enhance cooperation in areas of healthcare, high-end talent cultivation, and industrial finance.
Guangzhou, one of China's top three medical centers, boasts rich clinical resources, diverse applications, a concentration of scientific and innovative elements, and a favorable policy environment.
Seizing the opportunities brought about by new industrialization, the city is accelerating the development of emerging industries such as biopharmaceuticals and health, aiming to become a global hub for biomedical innovation and industrial development.
GE HealthCare, a globally-leading healthcare multinational, has deep roots in Guangzhou, and both parties have a solid foundation for cooperation. Sun expressed hope that GE HealthCare will increase investment in Guangzhou, facilitating the transformation and application of new technologies, products, and models in the city. Zhang noted that Guangzhou possesses unique advantages in areas such as industry, innovation and talent, instilling confidence in its development prospects.
